WHO AM I?

I am an architect turned teacher who believes EVERYBODY can and must learn Math.

As I was growing up, I learned a lot of math from my grandfather who was an amazing math teacher. In those days, in my native country Romania, students had to pass several hard examinations to get into high school and university. Since I wanted to study architecture and that was a very competitive program, I had to be really good at math and drawing - which people are always surprised to hear is mostly geometry! While preparing for these exams, I learned a few things besides mathematical operations:

ANYONE CAN LEARN MATH REALLY WELL

Math = Truth: do the operations right, you always get the correct result

Math = Logic: you can think straight then no one can trick you. Nice, eh?

Math = Fun: there can be a few ways to solve one exercise, think puzzle!

Math takes practice, just like learning to play an instrument or do sports.

​

You gotta stick to math. You cannot learn math in a month or a year.

The sooner you start with math, the better your understanding.

The paradox of Math: if you start later, you can also catch up - it all depends on how determined you are!

Math is a life skill: it disciplines one's mind and actions and it can get you out of trouble when you're stuck.
